Jim Muncy says “The most successful people spend their lives bringing people together.” Relationships are the fourth form of wealth. I believe this to be the most important! Without relationships, what matters? It doesn’t matter if you have money, time, and your in great shape or have a great mind. If you have no one to share it with, life could be pretty pointless. On the other hand, having great people around you is such a blessing it really is a form of wealth.
The really successful people will bring as many people together as possible. They will be people brokers. They will be able to network with people in order to help each other. It’s good to build as many bridges as you can, because you never know when you’ll need to cross them.
It is wise to always talk and cultivate friendships with everyone. You never know when you may need a favor. When I was in supervision, managers always cultivated relationships with me. When they needed a favor, I always felt obliging because I liked helping others.
It has been said that White House staff have adored some presidents, while barely tolerating others. In the most notable category were Teddy Roosevelt and Ronald Reagan. They would treat every maid, gardener, or kitchen worker as members of one big family. Although this probably did nothing for their political aspirations, it sure made life easier for all involved.
Relationships with family members can sometimes be challenging. We know more of each others faults and which buttons to push. If we can get past that, the synergy of siblings, parents and relatives is priceless!
